HANDLING DIVISION - EVALUATION

(1 Jan - 30 June 1956)

From the mission standpoint an overall evaluation indicated that the Handling Division successfully met all requirements placed upon it.  Minor difficulties have been met and coped with, producing excellent results during maximum effort operations.  No major difficulties involving operational techniques of procedures were encountered.  Equipment and facilities were adequate for the accomplishment of the primary mission and full capability during continuous operations with the exception of the underpowered 2000 lb. draw bar pull electric tug as previously mentioned, was maintained.  All efforts were made to seek better methods of accomplishing the task at hand.

Morale has been high and with continued Management Improvement Programs, it is anticipated that it will remain stable.

It is the opinion of the Division Chief that the Handling Division is capable of meeting any future operational requirement levied.

(1 Jan - 30 June 1957)

During this six month reporting period, the requirements of the primary mission were successfully accomplished.  The only difficulties that have been encountered by this Division are the UMD strength and the number of Ross Straddle Carriers assigned.   Recommendations have been sent to higher Headquarters requesting an increase in the UMD strength and straddle carrier authorization.

The morale of the airmen in this Division is considered to be very high as evidenced by their numerous voluntary time contributions during off duty hours in the performance of additional unforeseen Division activities.  This Division has met all past requirements, no matter how difficult, and all future requirements will be met with an aggressiveness and initiative that will cope with any situation that may arise.
